Life Cycle Assessments

Our Life Cycle Analysis initiative, developed in partnership with third-party experts, is a cradle-to-grave examination of the carbon footprint of all major material categories at every product stage.  Our analysis is facility-specific, capturing the highest level of process-specific detail needed to help us best understand the impact of our organization and help our customers best understand the impact of their designs.

Carbon Footprint Verification

Our Carbon Footprint Verification Statements offer a comprehensive look into the embodied carbon impacts for the most popular products within the Landscape Forms family of brands. Following the requirements of ISO 14067, this project examined the carbon footprint of every product stage, including upstream materials, core manufacturing, packaging, transport, use, maintenance, and disposal at end of life.

Environmental Product Declarations

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are the gold-standard of environmental data. They use the science of life cycle assessment to offer a standardized, third-party verification of impact across categories, including potential contribution to global warming, effects on marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and overall utilization of natural resources. Our EPD program is one of the first in our industry, helping to establish a better baseline of data for site furnishings, inform better policy, and set in motion a movement toward greater transparency and standardization of impact data industry wide.

Partnering for a Better Future

SITES Community Partnership

We are proud to be a SITES Community Partner, sharing in the commitment to creating outdoor spaces that are ecologically resilient, high-performance and enhance communities in meaningful ways. The Sustainable SITES Initiative® is a rating system that evaluates and certifies a project’s sustainability throughout planning, design, construction and management. It captures all the benefits outdoor spaces can provide, and guides us to confidently build new landscapes, better and with fewer tradeoffs. And through our solutions and specific support, we help landscape architects, designers and planners streamline the process toward SITES Certification.

Supporting ASLA’s CBAC

The ASLA Climate and Biodiversity Action Committee (CBAC) advises on landscape architecture’s role in increasing biodiversity, restoring ecosystems, and combating climate change. The committee works to explore, create, and promote programs, products, and services that offer research and learning opportunities for landscape architecture professionals. We proudly support the BCAC's mission by contributing to these efforts and advancing sustainable solutions in the industry. Learn more at asla.org.

“It's been extremely rewarding to work with the ASLA CBAC. There have been so many tangible results from this group coming together to pour their talent and knowledge into big problems that affect us all. Climate and Biodiversity are becoming a new center of focus and the BCAC is helping Landscape Architects leverage their skills into actions to really make a difference.”
