Landscape Forms, North America’s leading designer and manufacturer of high-design site furniture, structure, LED lighting and accessories, introduces the Cora line, a collection of curvilinear, low-to-the-ground tables with the ability to nest and work together in a variety of artful arrangements.
Designed by the Landscape Forms team, the Cora line includes a large 10.5” high table, a medium 12.5” high table, and a small 14” high table. Drawing on forms of nature like stacked river rocks, fallen leaves and flower petals, or a layered treetop canopy as observed from above, their forms are stylized, distinctly organic, and offer the ability to nest, stack and layer in visually compelling ways. Their construction is simple, time-tested and refined, crafted solely using laser cut steel tops and robust bent steel understructure to ensure durability and the efficient use of energy and materials during manufacturing.
“I would say Cora is the perfect embodiment of the phrase ‘simple, but not simplistic,’” says Landscape Forms Chief Innovation Officer, Kirt Martin. “They showcase how you can use the most basic of tools and processes to make something that’s beautiful, something that makes a statement, and something that stands up to other really highly designed pieces."
The understated, natural form of the Cora tables offers great design versatility, serving as a complement to landscape elements and organic design while also serving to artfully contrast the right angles and crisp edges of modern architecture. The curvature continues in the expertly engineered understructure of the tables throughout which not all points are parallel to the ground plane. This creates a cantilevered, overhanging effect that enables Cora to nest in various orientations while remaining stable and fully grounded.
“They’re universal, artful tables that can work in a lot of different places,” says Landscape Forms Director of Design, Ryan Heiser. "The design is very honest and pure, and because of this simplicity, details like the exact profiles of the curves needed to be perfect. That’s where we really spent the time on this project.”
This meticulously designed curvature lends the Cora line a unique and recognizable graphic quality, both as stand-alone pieces and while working together in conversation. Compositions of multiple tables can be striking for their play with color and contrast, almost reminiscent of celebrated midcentury cut-out paper art.
Joined by other site furnishings, Cora tables are designed to serve sophisticated outdoor common areas like high-end airport lounges, multi-family residential amenity spaces, and casual outdoor seating arrangements on a corporate and education campuses, for example. In the places people seek for comfort and respite, Cora contributes style and elegance with a welcoming, friendly and at-home feel. They pair ideally with a wide range of outdoor lounge seating options, including Landscape Forms' new Monterey line of curvilinear soft seating. Cora is offered in the company’s full powdercoat color palette and finished with Landscape Forms’ proprietary Pangard II® Polyester Powdercoat System that’s recognized for its industry-leading durability, color retention and resistance to wear.
