Landscape Forms, North America’s leading designer and manufacturer of premium site furniture, structure, lighting, and accessories, has announced the launch of the 21 Lounge Chair, a new addition to its celebrated 21 line created in collaboration with Grand Rapids-based design studio, Modello USA.

Building on the success of the original 21 Chair, the 21 Lounge Chair offers a new level of outdoor comfort and style, designed to invite relaxation while maintaining the modern elegance and versatile styling for which the line is known. Named for the roomy, 21”-wide seat pan, the 21 Lounge Chair embodies the line’s “designed for anywhere and anyone” ethos, comfortably welcoming a wide range of statures and postures in myriad outdoor spaces and social public settings.

“A lounge chair is just a natural fit for the 21 line,” says Landscape Forms Director of Design, Ryan Heiser. “The original 21 Chair is loved for being spacious, more relaxed than a classic dining chair, and more welcoming of different postures. The 21 Lounge Chair leans even further into this idea — canting back the same seat pan design, taking it lower to the ground, and truly embracing relaxation outdoors.”

The 21 Lounge Chair joins its sibling in its elevated simplicity and honest approach to materials, durably crafted from steel tubing and die-cast aluminum slats for the seat and back. With a sense of subtle refinement — evident in its softly chamfered edges, welcoming curves, and angled arms that enhance comfort in multiple sitting positions — the 21 Lounge Chair strikes a perfect balance between traditional site furnishing design and modern craft manufacturing quality and precision.

“What’s great about the 21 Lounge Chair is that it plays really well between the traditional and the modern,” explains Landscape Forms Chief Innovation Officer, Kirt Martin. “The silhouette is familiar yet with this exacting, modern precision — especially in details like the die cast panels on the seat and back. This allows it to work with such a wide range of tables, in such a wide range of environments, and never really look out of place.”

With a design that effortlessly bridges the gaps between casual comfort, public space brawn, and elevated aesthetics, the 21 Lounge Chair is poised to become a favorite for outdoor settings that demand functionality, durability and style. Despite their generous size, 21 Lounge Chairs are space-conscious in their ability to stack up to four chairs high. They are finished in a variety of artful colors with Landscape Forms’ proprietary Pangard II® HAPS, VOC, and lead-free polyester powdercoat that resists chipping, peeling, and fading. While 21 Lounge Chairs are offered standard in a single color, custom color combinations can be specified to help create a unique sense of place and reinforce the identity of branded environments.

Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Modello USA specializes in the design of ergonomic seating.
