The prominent Midtown area of Nashville got swankier with the completion of Broadwest, a mixed-use development anchored by two towers that house condominiums, a hotel, and retail and office space. The towers are connected by a 1.5-acre public outdoor plaza.
The Cooper Carry Atlanta office designed the plaza, including amenities enjoyed by hotel guests as well as office workers and neighborhood residents. While the formidable towers – 21 and 34 stories –loom large over the site, the plaza is inviting and comfortable, brought down to pedestrian scale with trellises, landscaping, a captivating water feature, and ample opportunities for gathering.
Cooper Carry Associate and Landscape Architect Zhen Feng looked to Landscape Forms for the right mix of products to “introduce a uniform design and materials language.” The selected lighting and furnishings complement the architecture and landscape design. “We are appealing to a new generation of tenants; the contemporary aesthetic of the furnishings and lighting introduces a fresh style to Broadwest.”
